The Launch: October 30, 2008! A good time was had by all...

There is always a first time, and this was my first book launch. The Waverley Library Auditorium  was an ideal venue, being a library (which means automatic association with books), being about a half kilometre away from two significant scenes in the narrative, and being free of charge.
It took some doing to get the Power Point slides to project (a connection mistake: mine), but the slides came across very well in large size, while the screen reflected enough light to enable reading with the room lights off. The atmosphere was friendly and just spooky enough. The audience, some 24 people, were attentive, respectful and interested. Lots of good questions afterward.
What I didn't have ready were refreshments, which would have helped, but I plead busy work week for that.
If the sequel comes along as planned late next year or early 2010, I hope to launch Lady Luck Smiles Only Once at the Northern Woman's bookstore, our last independent bookstore, and very supportive I might add.
Photos are by good friend and colleague Elle Andra-Warner. I use the plural because I hope to post a few more here.
